The Great Malle Cali Rally is the longest and greatest endurance road rally ever attempted across the wild and beautiful state of California. The meticulously researched and curated 2500 mile Rally route is set over 9 Rally stages, designed to take our Ralliers to truly wild places and to push boundaries with their team. You will venture to cross all of the wildest and most dramatic landscapes in the state, with the start line in Joshua Tree National Park, heading out through Death Valley and the beautiful deserts of Southern California. The Cali-Rally will take you to the highest roads of the majestic Sierra Nevada, into many of the iconic National Parks and through the real back country of old California, before experiencing some of the most unique natural landscapes in the world. This adventure will get hot, in remote locations well below sea level, to riding through the tallest forests in the world and experiencing the most iconic coastline adventure in the world.

To celebrate a decade of The Malle Rally we’ve now set this new one-off challenge of taking on The Great Malle Cali Rally adventure in October of 2026. Over the last 10 years our Malle Rally riders have crossed the entirety of Great Britain, the Alps Mountain Range, the Arctic Tundra and now our community will meet in California. Open to all motorcycles and special vehicles on three and 4 wheels, there are only 100 places for motorcycles and 10 places for 3-4 wheel Rally machines.

On some nights all Rally guests will camp under canvas in the desert, in our luxury rally bell tents (or with their own tent), on some nights all teams will stay in beautiful vintage air streams, on other nights (when we’re at altitude and with temperatures dropping at night) all guests will be staying in an exclusive mountain hotel. On our journey to the heart of Californian culture, locally inspired food plays a huge role, the Rally dinner and Rally briefing are hosted in the Rally camp each night, which are located in truly unique locations that only the Malle Rally will take you to. Our private chefs will be cooking up a storm in the Rally camps throughout, with hearty breakfasts and a locally sourced Rally lunch – we provide all food throughout, with the occasional whisky/wine tasting – the only thing not included in is your fuel and drinks.

Each Rally rider/driver is given their own exclusive limited edition ‘Malle Rally Kit Pack’ and their Malle Rally Duffel with their Rally numbers on it all – so that all luggage is waiting at the Rally camp for the riders and drivers each night. We transport everything that you can fit into your Malle Rally Duffel, anything else would need to be strapped to the duffel, or carried by the guest on their motorcycle/vehicle. We can’t wait for the Rally flag to drop and for this Californian odyssey to begin!

Over the last 10 years we’ve created and refined the ‘Greatest (and longest) Rally experiences in the world. Our aim is to enable each guest to focus purely on the Rally experience together with their team of new/old friends, explore the best of California by motorcycle or 3-4 wheels, surrounded by a load of wonderfully daring adventurers, that share the same thirst for adventure and passion for motorcycles and all supported by The Malle Rally team at all times, to help you go further.

We provide all accommodation in truly unique settings (deserts/mountains/forests/cliff-tops), great locally inspired food and expert Rally mechanics, to ensure you make it there, back and hungry for the next unique Malle Rally experience! There’s a reason why many of our Ralliers have joined us year after year, the adventure never ends.

We deliver a cross country Rally experience like no other, with the core aim to support every rider/driver to cross the Rally finish-line with as much fun and adventure as possible. We’ve been honoured to welcome Rally guests from over 35+ countries, from around the world and they’ve done and seen more in 9 days, than most people ever will.

Each evening the secret checkpoints are revealed to the Rally teams. As you check-in at each checkpoint your times are logged and compared against the ‘perfect’ time of the Rally Stage. At the end of each Rally stage, there’s the Rally dinner and some suitably inappropriate entertainment, from waterfall swimming, whisky tasting, or rally mechanics with our team. Like The Malle Mile festival, the Cali-Rally is purely focused on completing it’s definitely not about competing. But with that said, the team with the nearest perfect rally time, will take The Great Malle Cali-Rally title!

ARRIVING AT THE START LINE

The Cali-Rally start line is deep into the serene deserts of Southern California overlooking the majestic Joshua Tree National Park.

To reach the start line, it has the same drive time from Los Angeles or Las Vegas (averaging 3-4 hours). Where the vast majority of all of the great rental companies are located, if you need to source a rental motorcycle/vehicle.

The Cali-Rally finish line is located near to Yucca Valley, which is only 20 minutes from the start line location, so if you were transporting a motorcycle/vehicle cross country, you can leave the transporter near the finish line, for when your team returns, 10 days later.

Rally Moto/auto Rentals

If you’re flying in from around the globe and require a rental motorcycle/vehicle for this adventure, we’ve made the start/finish location really easy for you to arrive into Los Angeles or Las Vegas the day before, collect your vehicle and arrive nice a relaxed at the start line (average drive time 3-4 hours from either city). There are over 20 rental operations in each city with a wide variety of motorcycles and 3-4 wheel machines to suit all budgets and tastes. So you can collect and return your rental vehicle with ease before and after the event.

BUILDING A RALLY TEAM + ‘LONEWOLF’ RIDERS

There’s a reason motorcycle clubs are so popular, riding with a group/team of good mates is one of the best things you can ever do. Side by side, riding the entire length of California, as the sun sets over the desert, does life get any better?

Some riders enter the rally as a team, but around 80% enter as a solo ‘LoneWolf’ rider/driver and we help build the teams, based on similar machinery, interests.. and hairstyles? Many great friendships have started in the Rally teams and long may that continue.

With that said, The Great Malle Rally is a rally event where teams of 2+ riders or drivers will complete each stage starting and finishing as a team. The clock will start when all riders have crossed the start line and stops once the entire team has reached the checkpoint. Making sure no one’s ever left behind.

The Cali-Rally Route & Stages

The exact Rally route is kept very secret and only unveiled to the teams at the first Rally briefing. Your next stage Route Card is given to you in the Rally Briefing each night. We like a real adventure where each rally stage unfolds day by day. We want you to be in the moment, with minimal planning for tomorrow, to be in the now. With that said, here's a taste...

STAGE 0 – RALLY REGISTRATION (2-4PM)

Riders, drivers and Rally teams check-in at the first Rally Camp, deep in the Californian desert, overlooking the magnificent Joshua Tree National Park. Enjoy the first Rally Briefing, meet the teams at the first Rally Dinner, with time for a good pre-party in the desert.

STAGE 1 – THE RALLY START LINE / INTO THE DESERT

The first Rally flag drops in a remote desert of Southern California. Stage 1 of the Rally heads out into the cactus laden Joshua Tree National Park, before heading North into the Mojave Desert and towards the infamous Death Valley.

STAGE 2 – THE SIERRA NEVADA

Stage 2 starts in the wild heat of Death Valley and heads deep into the Sierra Nevada, across the highest roads in California, deep into the mountains.

STAGE 3 – THE SIERRA NEVADA CONTINUES

Stage 3 starts in the awe inspiring Yosemite National Park and heads through the mountains towards the beautiful azure Lake Tahoe.

STAGE 4 –  THE FORESTS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Stage 4 takes on the largest forests and the most remote landscapes of Northern California, where the landscapes change dramatically in minutes.

STAGE 5 – TO THE PACIFIC

Stage 5 starts deep in the forests and ends with the sun setting over the clifftop Rally camp, looking out over the majestic Pacific Ocean.

STAGE 6 – TO THE TREES

Stage 6 starts overlooking the Pacific Ocean and carves a new route in-land, hair pin after hair pin, down the coast and across the Golden Gate Bridge.

STAGE 7 – FROM THE TREES TO THE SEAS

Stage 7 starts with our Rally teams waking up amongst the largest trees on the planet and heads South along the most iconic coastal route in the world.

STAGE 8 – BACK TO THE DESERT & THE RALLY FINISH LINE

Stage 8 starts in the vineyards of California and takes on the most diverse stage of the Cali-Rally, from coastal villages and vineyards, through the mountains and into the deserts to find Cali-Rally finish-line, with many secrets in store for the after party.

Stage 9 - POST RALLY

After a hearty Californian breakfast, all Rally teams can take a relaxed departure, late on Sunday morning to Los Angeles or Las Vegas, or better yet enjoy a few days in the wilderness of Joshua Tree and unwind in the serenity of the desert around you.
