The Great Malle Mountain Rally – A celebration of the wildest landscapes in the greatest mountain range in Europe. The ‘Rallye Montagne’ sets the unique challenge of taking on the entirety of the Alps Mountain Range in one wild motorcycle adventure and a world first – the longest motorcycle rally ever attempted across the entire Alps mountain range. Venturing from Austria to Monaco – over 7 Rally stages. Rally teams will ride 2000 km East to West across all of the highest mountain passes in the Alps, reaching heights of 2770m, finally completing at sea level in Monaco for a welcome dip in the Mediterranean. Join the longest motorcycle rally ever attempted in the beautiful Alps.

On each day the rally teams join the Rally Briefing and are given the 5 rally checkpoints to guide the teams along our route, with marshals supporting and timing, along with the Malle Rally crew, followed by our rally engineers and support team.

All riders camp under canvas in our luxurious rally bell tents, with the riders briefing and the dinner in the rally camp each night. On almost every night we’ll be in a different country, staying in wild castles, ancient chateau's and luxurious mountain lodges with the local menu being designed to celebrate each unique terrain and terroir of the location. Our private chefs cook up a storm in the rally camp each evening and provide all food throughout.

Each rider is given their own ‘Malle Mountain Rally Duffel” with their rally number on it – so that all luggage is waiting in The Rally camp for riders. We only transport what you can fit in your Malle Rally Duffel (65cm x 30cm x 30cm), anything else would need to be carried by you on your motorcycle.

Over the last 8 years we’ve developed and refined the ‘Greatest (and longest) Motorcycle Rally experience across the Alps Mountain Range’. Our aim is to enable each rider to focus purely on the rally experience together with their team-mates and friends, explore the best of the Alps terrain by motorcycle, surrounded by a host of daring adventurers, who all share the same thirst for adventure and passion for motorcycles.

Our rally engineers and support team follow the rally and support you at all times, if you choose, we will deliver your motorcycle to the start line in Innsbruck and back to the UK/LIlle (France) from the finish line in Monaco/Nice Airport. We provide accommodation in truly unique settings (castles/mountain-tops/chateaus), great local food from our private chefs and expert rally mechanics, to ensure you make it there and back again – we’ll do everything and anything to get you and your motorcycle across that finish line with as much fun and adventure as possible!

By working together with our rally partners we deliver a cross continental motorcycle experience like no other. Each evening the secret checkpoints are revealed to the rally teams. As you check-in at each checkpoint your times are logged and compared against the “perfect” time of the days route, for every minute early or late you lose a point, to ensure all national speed restrictions are adhered to. At the end of each days rally stage, there’s the rally dinner and some suitably inappropriate entertainment, from waterfall swimming to adventure talks, whisky tastings and more.

The Malle Rally is purely focused on completing and it’s definitely not about competing. But with that said, the team with the nearest perfect rally time, will take The Great Malle Mountain Rally award.

Motorcycle Delivery

Motorcycles can be collected from the UK or Lille by our rally trucks and we will transport your motorcycle and riding kit to the start line in Innsbruck/Austria and deliver it back to the UK/Lille from Nice Airport after the Rally. With each bike safely cradled up, highly insured and with a carnet to cross to and from Europe with ease. So you can simply fly in and out and enjoy the pure Malle Rally experience.

If you select the motorcycle transport option from the UK, all UK bikes must be delivered there and back again, we can't just deliver one way.

Motorcycles will need to be dropped off with our delivery team between the 30th August-3rd of September, prior to the Rally departure and collected within 2 days after the return delivery to the UK/Lille after the event, but we can arrange storage of motorcycles before/after the event.

Motorcycle Rental

If you’re flying in from around the globe and require a rental motorcycle for this adventure, our trusted UK rental partner has 35 motorcycles now available for you to choose from (BMW, Triumph, Ducati, Yamaha and Royal Enfield) then we’ll deliver them to the Rally start line in Austria and back from the Rally finish-line. So you can fly in and get straight into the greatest Alpine riding immediately and let our team deal with all of the delivery logistics, Carnets and they’re offering a discount to our Rally riders for the days the motorcycles will be in transport lorries.

BUILDING A RALLY TEAM + ‘LONEWOLF’ RIDERS

There’s a reason motorcycle gangs are so popular, riding with a group/team of good friends is one of the best things you can ever do. Side by side, riding through the Alps, together.

Some riders enter the rally as a team, but 80% enter as a solo ‘LoneWolf’ rider and we help build the teams, based on similar machinery, interests, experience etc. Many great friendships have started in the Malle rally teams and long may that continue!

With that said, The Great Malle Mountain Rally is a rally event where teams of 2+ riders will complete each stage starting and finishing as a team. The clock will start when all riders have crossed the start line and stops once the entire team has reached the checkpoint, ensuring no one’s left behind.

The Rally Route & Stages

The exact Rally route is all kept secret and changes each year, the next Rally stage Route Card is given to you in the Riders Briefing each night, let the adventure unfold ahead of you and be present in the moment.

STAGE 0 – PRE-RALLY RIDERS REGISTRATION

Riders check-in at Innsbruck, Austria between 4pm-6pm. Arriving in time for a good Pre-Rally party, dinner and the first riders briefing.

FLIGHTS FROM NICE AIRPORT TO LONDON/WORLD. MOTORCYCLES LOADED AND DELIVERED TO LONDON/LILLE. TRAIN BACK TO PARIS AND EUROSTAR BACK TO LONDON.

Flights from Nice Airport to London/World. Motorcycles are loaded at Nice Airport and delivered back to the UK or Lille. We recommend taking the Eurostar to Paris or London.

For those selecting our delivery service, motorcycles will be arriving back in the UK on Friday the 24th of September and to our optional European locations before then.

WHICH MOTORCYCLE CAN I ENTER?
Every motorcycle is of course welcome on the Great Malle Mountain Rally, we have amazing engineers and mechanics, so this is also an opportunity to enter something a little more custom, Rally, or classic, or build an Adventure Bike, cafe-racer or scrambler. It doesn’t matter what you ride, just that you ride and are excited about the Rally adventure!

I’M A LONE WOLF AND WANT TO JOIN A TEAM, CAN I?
Absolutely, drop us a mail and we’ll fix you up with some adventurous ‘like-biked’ team mates.

I’M JOINING FROM ABROAD, CAN I RENT A BIKE AND ENTER?
Yes, we have a great rental partner who rent great Triumphs, Royal Enfield’s, Ducati’s and BMW’s which will work well for the event. Drop us an email and we'll connect you with our Rental partners.

I WANT TO ENTER MY CLASSIC, CUSTOM/RARE CAR, CAN I JOIN?
Yes, absolutely! Every year we’ve had 3 & 4 wheel Rally entrants, come and join the fun. The motorcycles depart in teams of 4-5, alternating with the automotive teams of 2-3 cars in each Rally team. Please select the Automotive Rally Package.

WHY’S IT SO CHEAP?
It’s true other 1000+ mile rallies cost tens of thousands of pounds to enter, we’ve really tried to keep this accessible and open to all riders and all budgets, for a once in a lifetime experience.

WHY’S IT SO EXPENSIVE?
The Great Malle Mountain Rally is a highly complicated logistical event involving hundreds of people supporting the rally from start to finish, over a 5000 mile route. With specialised kit, Rally camps, great food, remote luxury camping, mechanics, engineers, lots of complimentary Malle Rally kit, vehicle delivery, permits, medics, insurance, custom production, chefs, staff, photographers and volunteers etc.

WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
We understand that life can change and plans can change before the Rally event. In the event of a cancellation 60+ days prior to the event, we will be able to push your place to the next years rally or another Malle Rally. If you need to cancel within 30 days of the event, your Rally place is non-refundable.

Your deposit is refundable within 30 days of purchase. After 30 days, your deposit can be moved to next year's rallies. Please note that deposits paid 30 days before a rally are non-refundable.

HOW TOUGH WILL THE RALLY BE?
The rally route is undoubtedly a long distance and it won’t be easy, but with the rally route we’ve planned it’s spectacular riding through the most amazing scenery and you and your team can ride at their own pace, with multiple stops at checkpoints. Many previous Rally riders have only been riding for a couple of years and it’s all one mile at a time. Plan accordingly, get some long distance practice in and prep your bike well.

HOW MANY HOURS/MILES WILL WE BE RIDING EACH DAY?
Expect to be riding around 200-250 miles per day, which should about 6-8 hours of riding per stage, with breaks at each check point (every 1.5-2 hours) and we want all riders back in camp by 6pm for the riders dinner and the evening social/rally event.

I RIDE A SCOOTER, CAN I ENTER?
You’ll be most welcome and not alone, ideally it would be over 250cc, but if you’re game, so are we!

CAN WE ENTER A COMPANY TEAM?
Absolutely, we are too! Contact us.

CAN WE FILM AND DOCUMENT THE RALLY?

CAN I JUST TURN UP AT THE START-LINE AND ENTER?
No, but you could join us for the Pre-Party in Innsbruck or the after party in Monaco/France.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS ON ROUTE?
We’ll all get a little wet. Prepare for all weather – in September it will most likely it will be gorgeous weather but rain can happen!

MY BIKE’S 100 YEARS OLD, WHAT HAPPENS IF IT CONKS OUT ON ROUTE?
Our engineering team will be prepared and do their best to get you back on the road asap. In the event of the bike seriously giving up the ghost, you’ll have two options: Stick your bike in one of our trucks and join your team, we do have a spare bike just in case, or join the rally marshal team for the remainder of the rally. Or you can call recovery and catch the nearest train/plane home, but we suggest the first option.

IS THE RALLY ONLY FOR BRITISH RIDERS?
Definitely not! This is a unique chance for international riders to experience the best of the Alps.

I WANT TO RIDE TWO UP WITH MY PARTNER/FRIEND, CAN WE?
Absolutely, just register a ‘Pillion’ place for your team mate/partner.

WHAT SORT OF PEOPLE WILL BE IN THE RALLY?
The most fun loving, adventurous, dedicated riders, on all sorts of motorcycles, the rally continues the DIY camaraderie and inclusive feel of every Malle Rally.

WHEN’S THE DEADLINE TO ENTER THE RALLY?

WILL THERE BE HOT SHOWERS IN THE WILD RALLY CAMPS?

ANY EXTRA COSTS FOR FUEL ETC.?
The average bike will use about £200 worth of fuel for the entire course, depending on how you ride and the motorcycle type this cost will vary.
